Hello Dr. Grymm!
I am a local artist and I also manage the daily OPS of the Art-O-Mat Program at The Cosmopolitan. Some of the Art-O-Mat machines are in the same hallway as your telescopes. I witness the amount of use they get daily and people definitely get crazy over them! They are some of my favorite pieces on property and I was soo sad when they disappeared for the redesign. Many of us that work in the arts programs there were happy to see their return to the property. :) Keep up the amazing work!

Picked up "1000 Steampunk Creations" on the weekend. Excellent compilation, letting the works speak for themselves, very good design per page. I really liked the linkage between images of the same work, both the actual technique and the implementation. You've both put together a fantastic resource. Now, how do I apply to get some artifacts registered for the "Next 1000"? :)

Yo Grymm, Roark Gourley here... I did the giant shoes at the Cosmopolitan. I could not believe how fast your pieces got thrashed. I have pictures of the staff trying to put them back together. I work with Dean daily at DFAS. I love how the new ones came out. BEAUTIFUL... hope the stay that way. My shoes have taken a beating... I should have known how popular they would be. I will be back and forth to the Cosmopolitan... I will keep and eye on your pieces.

Kathryn , as an important note please find some people that actually know something about how stuff works as that is a key element of steam punk . That's the problem I have with Cherie Priests book . The Airships are key to her book and she spends tons of time describing airships that won't fly and tons of other practical things that just won't work or operate the way she says . The worst is that there is tons of info on WWI German airships that are exactly what she should be describing .Maybe I'm only peeved because my hobby is the history of technology . She describes magic not technology .Frankly there is tons of stuff that was built and worked that just didn't come into common use because other solutions were found to be easier or cheaper or the right people were bribed .The retro future was surprising .Find hands on people .Vi vat Santos Dumont !

A few years ago Anne Rice went absolutely nuts on a reader who dared to give her a poor review of her latest work. It got messy -- bloody even. Ms. Rice came off looking... well, awful. I am glad to hear that she was nice to you, though!

Hi Ray. It IS so much more, your right. However this is only the trailer. There is alot more to the film. Trust me, it will tell alot more about Steampunk than just what you see here, and from the views of several artis, fans and newcomers to the Genre. Keep in mind this is a Documentary and will follow my annual exhibit and how I put it all together. In saying this, please keep in mind that there is no wrong or right when it comes to art. You'll just have to wait for the final film to see how it all plays out.

Interesting trailer . As someone who is on the outside looking in at this point the trailer really doesn't really even hint at what steampunk might be .It gives the impression that it's way to recycle dodgy antiques . And it seems so much more to me .
